This Page is my Testimony to Christ's many Blessings in My Life.
MY STORY
I grew up in a Christian family and my parents always took us to Church as children. I am so thankful for that! I was born in Dallas and baptized into First United Methodist Church of Allen, in which I am still a member.
Church has always been an important part of my life. I was always very active in my youth group and began questioning my personal faith at a young age. Every summer, I always went to Bridgeport Church Camp, and every year it changed my life! In the Summer of 1993, at Bridgeport, I felt God calling me into the ministry, in what way I wasn't sure. It's a calling that I still feel very strong about and have faith that wherever He wants me, He'll open the doors and lead the way.

The sunsets at Bridgeport are some of the best ever seen! I love nature - it's such evidence of God in itself!
  My Spiritual Experiences at Southwestern
(written April, 2001)
I am always amazed when you look back at some decision that you made or at your life and it's so evident the hand of God in so much of it! That's the way I feel about my decision to come to SU. Little did I know what He had in store and the incredible blessings that I would receive.
First of all, majoring in Religion was something I decided in high school to do. It's a lot different from what I thought but at the same time, exactly what I wanted. I've had the opportunity to strengthen my own faith by critically, academically studying Christianity, as well as looking at the other major world religions (that fascinate me).
Secondly, the people!! I've made the most incredible friends here that I could spend forever trying to explain but would never do justice. My friends have challenged my faith, encouraged and taught me about love, true faith, trust and friendship.
Thirdly, (though not mutually exclusive from the above) is the opportunities God has given me to minister and to be ministered to. I immediately became active my first-year with Cross Training, an interdenominational group here, which is awesome! I was able to learn about that ministry by being on the leadership team for awhile and I met some of my closest friends through this group. While I'm not very active with it now, I still cherish my experience in it.
Also, I helped start a Christian sorority, Sigma Phi Lambda, my freshman year with 11 other women. It's been an unbelievable experience for me to be involved with Phi Lamb. I have the greatest Christian Sisters anyone could ask for, and over 45 of them at that! I was Chaplain last year and am President this year, and that's been completely God preparing me for my youth ministry. I love them all so much and will miss this probably the most of all my college experience!
My Spiritual Experience at Southwestern in One Word: GROWTH!

Presently
About a year ago, I began my full-time ministry at Wesley UMC in Greenville, Texas (that's about an hour NE of Dallas) as their Youth Director/Minister. I am in complete awe of the way that God brought this amazing opportunity into my life and said "here you go!". Now that I've gotten to know the youth and their families better - I am still so excited about what our future together holds and am constantly amazed at how much I have been blessed by this church. This is definitely where I feel God wants me and I feel I can make a difference.

Inspiring & Challenging Scripture
CHRISTIAN UNITY (also Phi Lamb's verse)
Romans 15:5-6 "May the God who gives you endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
A CHALLENGE
Hebrews 12:1-2a "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us. Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith"
TRUST IN GOD/ENCOURAGEMENT
Isaiah 40:30-31 "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Sisters for the Lord
I designed this "logo" for Phi Lamb, to go on our organization banner for SU's Presidential Inauguration this year. Hope you like it.
